  Great place if you like real ales. Massive selection of beers with knowledgeable staff to help you choose. Good bar food too if you fancy a bite to eat.

  The MoCa Bar is actually more of a modern-style pub, not what you would normally call a "bar". It is bright and friendly, the decor simple but attractive, and it appeals more to the clientèle you would normally find in a traditional real ale pub. But since The Railway Hotel is under renovation, the The Boathouse has been turned into a veterinarian clinic and The Crown is just an average Spoon, you aren't left with too many options in the centre of Matlock.
  
  And the MoCa Bar is a nice pub indeed: It offers quite a healthy selection of hand-pumped real ales from many different small breweries (rotating), and it's centrally located. The staff are friendly and competent, the beers well-kept. It is rather small and can get quite busy on a weekend.

  Great selection of real ales which are (usually) well kept. Probably the best place in Matlock for a pint by the bar, as seating can be limited.

  Best pub in Matlock. Loads of well kept ales. The Kirin lager is great too.
